The Dressing Room

I am getting married in less than a month now, and thanks to Judy I will be walking down the aisle in a beautiful gown that fits like a glove, thanks to Hugh! The way Judy runs her business is so professional, and she really makes you feel special! The dressing room was the first place I went to because I figured I would get a wide range of ideas (not realizing that I could afford one!) I was nervous going into the store, it was my first time trying on a wedding dress, and when you dont have a high budget, you can feel embarrassed, but Judy never made me feel ashamed and she had a solution, she pointed to the sample dresses. I tried on a few and liked every one! I wanted to still see what was out there so I went to another store, Davids Bridal. I was overwhelmed the second I stepped in the store, so I went home. I left the dressing room which is this adorable boutique, where its just you Judy and the dresses (and of course whomever you bring) feeling confident and relaxed, and the special feeling I had at her store was gone the second I stepped into davids bridal. A few weeks later I went back to the dressing room and Judy found a dress for me that fit perfectly, it was in my budget and was exactly what I wanted! The experience and Judy's professionalism made me want to buy a dress there (besides the fact that every gown is beautiful) it truly was a great experience! Hugh altered my dress, and added a bustle, and 2 months later, it fits perfectly and I cannot wait to get married in less than a month :o)

Working with Judy and the Dressing Room is an experience I will never forget. She did not pressure me to buy anything or try to convince me I liked something, but only wanted me to find something that I loved and if I didn't like it, o well, onto the next one. I found my dream dress here and with her help we altered it to make it even more perfect adding some embellishment. Also, Hugh the seamstress is a miracle worker. He worked so hard to get rid of 1 bubble that was on the back of the dress and did not stop until he got it right. Also, he created the most beautiful bustle for me. Thank you Judy and Hugh for all your special help and attention and making the dress perfect.

Judy at The Dressing Room is amazing! One step into her store makes you realize you're not in a big-box, take a number type store. You are provided a private appointment with Judy to discuss your style, your ideas, your budget, etc. She learns about you as a person, your fiance, your engagement, your wedding plans, etc. There are a lot of dresses, designers and styles to choose from at The Dressing Room. I took my bridesmaids with me the day I was going to try on dresses, and she provided a memorable day for us. I must have tried on at least 5 dresses, and the one I chose was the last one. My friends all knew it was the one when they saw my HUGE smile. From purchase to alterations, to pickup, to monogrammed labels, etc, Judy and Hugh (her tailor) was SO accommodating. My dress was extremely unique. I cannot even begin to tell you how many compliments I got on my dress. It was absolutely perfect. It fit my body and my personality to a T. I would suggest ALL brides visit The Dressing Room for a truly unique and personal experience. Judy is awesome!

I did not purchase my gown from The Dressing Room, but Hugh did my alterations. Both Judy and Hugh were not only professional and knowledgeable, they were also warm, kind, and very helpful. I immediately felt comfortable with them. I had three dress fittings, and many alterations. Hugh's pricing was extremely reasonable (underpriced, even), especially for his level of handiwork. I was nothing but completely satisfied with my experience there, and I can't say enough good things about Judy and Hugh. They're wonderful and I can recommend them wholeheartedly!

I found The Dressing Room initially because she carried the Jenny Yoo dresses I liked. My appointment was nice and private, with allowed for clear decision making. Judy has a great dress selection, for any type of wedding dress (great Nicole Miller's I also liked). The dress I loved was being discontinued by Jenny Yoo but Judy was able to get it (and rush order). She promptly called me to set up alterations with Hugh, whom is even better than his reviews! He created a sweetheart neckline on my dress and made it fit so perfect to my body, he is a perfectionist! Also, Judy has GREAT accessories and jewelry. She doesn't do "bridal" jewelry, but more trendy jewelry that you can wear with the wedding dress. I received a lot of complements on my jewelry and very reasonable prices. I was very happy with The Dressing Room and would highly recommend setting an appointment to check out her dresses. Judy and Hugh are a great team, very professional! Thank you!!

Let me just say that I stumbled upon The Dressing Room by accident and I am SO HAPPY that I did. Judy is absolutely amazing and very helpful. Her shop is so private for every customer. It's you and her and wonderful Hugh (alterations, we'll get to this). She focuses ALL of her attention on you and it is a really great experience to have that when all of the other places you go are swarming with people. She has got the stock too. It is very classy and elegant and up to style in there. And she definitely accessorizes in there too. The pricing is surprisingly fair and if she doesn't have it or there's a different color you want, she can get it.Hugh did my alterations and wow, what an expert. He totally reconstructed the upper portion of my dress....took the back out and made it structurally sound! It was everything that I wanted and absolutely perfect. I couldn't have expected anything better! I was quoted for the alterations by another place and thought it was just a bit pricey but I was willing to pay it and when I got the scoop on The DRessing Room I went there instead and I am really just blown away by the quality of the work that they did for the price I paid...Amazing. :)Thank you guys so much for making this experience so stress-free and enjoyable.

Judy was incredibly helpful with her assistance in my quest for the perfect dress. She was extremely flexible, professional and was focused on my needs during my appointments. Hugh - the alterations person, is an absolute genius - my dress fit perfectly. I had many compliments on how well my dress fit, in addition to how it looked.

The Dressing Room was the perfect place to find a wedding dress. During your appointment, you will have the store to yourself, which makes the experience a lot more special. She's very honest and wants to see each of her brides walk out of the store happy. I loved my dress and received so many compliments on it for being so unique and different. Wonderful experience and I would recommend Judy to anyone looking for their dress!

Wow, this place is a gem! Judy is wonderful; she makes individual appointments with each bride, carefully listens to what you're looking for and does her utmost to find it. She's extremely practical, mindful of both budget and occasion, which is hard to find in a bridal store. One of the things I love most about her is that she is honest, she'll tell you if something doesn't look right - something every bride needs... and she knows what she's talking about!It is even more rare to find a bridal shop that is willing to help brides who've bought dresses elsewhere and can't find a place to get them altered. I'd previously visited The Dressing Room but not found the right dress. I came across my dress in Orlando, that they only had in a sample and was quite an unusual and complicated dress to alter, covered in roses. Judy took me under her wing and reassured me she could help. Her alterations guru, Hugh, transformed my dress. from a size 10 to a size 0, in a matter of days. He even took the extra roses from my dress to attach to my birdcage veil. Judy didn't charge for this at all, yet was always on hand to help and Hugh was extremely affordable. Within 10 days, I had a dress that fit like a glove.Weddings are notoriously stressful, but I can honestly say that having met Judy and Hugh, I wasn't in the least bit worried about my dress. I can't thank them enough and couldn't recommend anyone more.

We were fortunate to happen upon The Dressing Room after a day of not so good experiences. Judy welcomed us in to her shop and we had a private session where I was able to try on as many dresses as I wanted. And, the selection and prices were fantastic. My mom and sister were offered wine and sat comfortably and watched. Judy and the tailor, Hugh, made this process enjoyable and stress-free. I am so thankful for finding The Dressing Room--I felt beautiful on my upcoming wedding day!

Judy at the Dressing Room was amazing! I did a reality show for my wedding dress, so I headed over to DR with my MOH to look for the bridesmaid dresses. She actually shuts down the store just for your appointment-no more personalized service than that. I needed very sophisticated dresses for my girls. My MOH & I pulled a few dresses we felt had a chance and then Judy took us back over to the rack to point at a dress we had passed by. On the hanger, I honestly thought it was a maternity dress b/c of the silk chiffon pieces hanging in the front & back of the dress!!! But then Judy pulled up the two pieces to show how they tied together to make a very elegant one shouldered floor length gown. It was a show stopper! But this was our first stop and we had to be sure. My MOH & I hit a couple of stores after our appointment with Judy, but no other dress or sales specialist hit the mark and we couldn't get DR, Judy, & the Lynn Lugo dress out of our heads! I called Judy right away to order the gowns. She was very honest about sizing and time frames. She even got input from the dress designer to help out on our order. My girls looked stunning and the ordering process went as smoothly as the beautiful navy blue silk my girls were draped in! Thank you Judy!

The first time I went to the Dressing Room, I was a bridesmaid shopping with the Bride. The minute I meet Judy, I knew that is where I would go for my bridal gown. It is a quaint boutique shop, by appointment only. Judy is honest, straight to the point and awesome at what she does. She has a great selection of dresses and keeps you in your price range. I did comparison shop at a couple of other shops and there was NO comparison. My alterations were done at the shop by Hugh and he was awesome. Between my dress and alterations, I was WELL within my budget. Not only did I get my gown from the Dressing Room but my Mom and my Bridesmaids were all from Judy's. Having 6 dresses and alterations being done, we were at Judy's once a week. It became our girls night out. Judy is great.

I had a great overall experience with Judy at The Dressing Room. The gowns offered at her shop of of great quality, and the selection is wide so you're sure to find something you love. The personal one-on-one appointment is priceless. I would recommend that over any larger bridal shop who takes multiple brides at a time. The personalization is what makes the experience that much more memorable for you and your family. Judy is all about the bride. If you have a type-A maid of honor, or sister who tries to steal the spotlight, warn them! Judy will put them in their place because it's YOUR day and she makes sure YOU, the bride, are happy. She makes sure you love the gown and are buying it because you love it, not because your mom does.Her tailor Hue is also wonderful. He made sure I was 100% happy with every single aspect of my gown. He's very hands-on and really cares about his brides. I would recommend this place 100 times over!

Judy at the Dress Room is absolutely incredible. I actually purchased my dress in Vegas, and what a small world, Judy knew the amazing girls I bought from! All 8 of my bridesmaids purchased their gorgeous dresses from Judy. She was so organized and patient with them. (Even with a maid-zilla causing issues!) I could never thank Judy enough for saving the day! She handled everything for me so that it was one less stressor. Her professionalism and caring attitude made me feel like I had a friend every time I went for a fitting or needed anything (since my mom lives in Colorado). Judy was always so quick to return my emails and calls anytime of day and even late evenings! Her personality will immediately attract you to want to be her best friend! Judy actually cares about you and your feelings, what your vision is, and how you want to look. She is so sincere and definitely knows what she is talking about! I trusted her right from the get-go. She and Hugh, the alterations genius, are amazing! Hugh had to practically make a new dress for me with alterations! He is the most talented alterations master that I have ever worked with! I felt so confident and beautiful, as if my dress was one-of-a-kind. They even sewed in my initials on a beautiful blue tag! And Hugh altered my Rehearsal dinner dress! If you aren't sure where to go, make this your first and last stop. Everything from her shop decor to the brands she carries just screams quality! Trust Judy and Hugh to take care of you and your dress(s) like I did. It was the best thing I could have done! They won't let you look anything but gorgeous for your big event. Thank You, Judy! The Dressing Room saved my wedding dress! Plain and simple. Without the help of Judy and Hugh, her tailor with the mostest, I would not have been able to wear the gown of my dreams on my big day.I had an alteration go bust and Judy went above and beyond to get me an appointment at her boutique - and six weeks before my wedding. As a recent MOB, I had a horrible, frustrating time finding an appropriate dress. The moment I walked into The Dressing Room and meeting Judy I finally relax and knew I would find my dress and did! Judy is a class act: honest and great taste! I had numerous comments how fabulous my dress was and I felt great in it! I wished I had known about the Dressing Room before I wasted my time going to department stores and other wedding stores. Judy sets a private appt so you have the store to yourself – it was a magically experience – thanks Judy!!My daughter lives out of town and purchased her dress at Altar Bridal, KS, where her fiancé’s family lived but not her. Very unfortunate Altar Bridal botched my daughter’s minor alterations and sent the dress directly to FL where the wedding was held. Since I had recently had a superb experience at the Dressing Room I asked Judy if my daughter could bring her dress in to work with her talented tailor, Hugh. Judy was extremely generous allowing us to meet privately for two sessions to get her dress repaired. I cannot thank Judy and Hugh the “alterations” master enough for repairing my daughter’s dress so it was wearable!!

Let me first say, make the easiest decision of your life as a bride-to-be and choose Judy and The Dressing Room. Very few bridal shops have the ability to be on time, show up with the best quality, and deliver the best talent in the industry...but Judy does!Sit on the comfy couch or at the glass table lovingly adorned with pictures of brides who cared enough after their wedding to send them to Judy.Hugh, the "alterations" master, works with the best of the best in the industry. Wanna have your dress altered by a guy who works with A-list celebrities?...yeah me too!! He dealt with my cellutlite and insecurities and my extremely delicate lace dress, which he sews and reattaches without even a hint that it was any different..other than now it is THE perfect length...He even took the time to sew a blue ribbon under my dres, because I needed someting blue! He's like picasso of the alterations world. He could sew his way out of jail blindfolded! In zero to five seconds, this guy creates a bustle that would make anyone envious. Okay I could go on..but I won't. And Judy...what can't I say? You meet her, you love her. She's honest and smart and has impeccable taste. Savor the feeling as you walk into this hip, yet intimate, bridal shop on Central Avenue. Between fittings, grab a bite at the Taco Bus, featured on the Food Network many times. This IS not a chain bridal shop, but her prices are just as good and the quality is five times more reliable. The brides you may run into during your fittings are even different, complimentary and overall classy. This may not mean a lot now, but as your final dress fitting approaches and the weight of planning a wedding desccends upon your emotions...it will mean more than you think. I can't express how lucky I was to find Judy and Hugh. The Dressing Room was the only dress shop in the US that had exactly what I wanted to try on and buy! It was a hard task and after feeling defeated by calling up and down the entire East Coast, I found it. The style of dress was not hip, it was pre-hip..it was Kate Middelton..before she choose sleeves. It was classic and rare. The Dressing Room had the dress and even more shocking, I could totally afford it! Everything was a breeze for this sometimes self-conscience wreck. I had little to spend and even less time to waste..and not much patience at the end of the day...funny thing was.. none of that even came into play when dealing with the level of professionalism you will see displayed. That kind of class and work ethic is a rarity in the world today. If words were ever enough, I would thank you Judy and Hugh but since they aren't...I hope to bring my future daughter to you one day. JUDY IS AWESOME! I absolutely loved my experience at the Dressing Room. Judy made me feel so comfortable and her selection of dresses is stunning. My fittings went smoothly and the dress was perfect. Anyone looking for a wedding dress should go see Judy at the Dressing Room! :)

I can not say enough positive things about The Dressing Room. Shopping for my wedding dress was one of the most rewarding and memorable aspects of the wedding. Judy was so delightful and inspiring! She helped me find my vision and the perfect dress. I walked out with a beautiful dress ready and empowered to be the most beautiful bride! I also walked out with a new friend, Judy. Judy assured me that this experience would be the same with her tailor Hugh. At that point I completely trusted Judy and was excited to also work with Hugh. There were no surprises. Hugh was professional and very patient. My dress had a few minor alterations and one major. I had him redesign the bust line. I was very very pleased with his work. I have never written a review online but I felt absolutely compelled to write this one! Judy and Hugh were excellent and I could not give them a higher recommendation!

I am so grateful for Judy and Hugh at The Dressing Room. My daughter had bought her dress in Cincinnati at Bridal and Formal, Inc. when she was home. Although promised by the beginning of April for a June 4th wedding, on May 17th upon calling them I learned her dress was lost. Instead they sent a smaller size. Although it was a Maggie Sottero dress, neither of the alteration places at which she had made appointments would touch it. It was poorly made, the sides were uneven. I suspect we were sent a reject which someone else had returned. BUT Judy and Hugh took pity on my daughter in this unfortunate circumstance and were willing to help. Hugh used his razor and his needle and worked wonders. In less than two weeks, they saved our day! I cannot say enough good things about Judy and Hugh. They are professional to the utmost. I could not recommend anyone else higher.
