Jamie Olsen did a beautiful job on our Wedding Flowers!!! She was a gem to work with and she was also so great with following up and getting back to me so quickly. The ceremony and reception decor was better than what I...

I just looked at a review I posted and you edited it and completely changed the meaning of what I had intended. You edited out a comment I made about another reviewer and I understand that. I probably should not have done so. But what you left in indicated that I thought only one % of the reviewers was positive. That is completely wrong. My intent was to convey that I was in the 99% who were satisfied. The ratings I have listed here are for your service. Please make the correction. Thank you, Rich

I cannot express how LUCKY I am to have hired Flowers-By-Design. Jamie sat down with my a year before my wedding, and she instantly saw my vision. On March 25th 2012, my vision came to life! Her staff set everything up, and worked directly with me to make sure we had everything we needed. I was short one flower, and they had brought extras to ensure we were always covered. I have recommended Flowers-By-Design to everyone who is getting married or having a large event. The arch they provided for my ceramony took my breath away. I could not have asked for a more perfect choice. My bridal bouquet was the talk of the wedding, and I kept it to dry them and keep it as a keepsake. That is how beautiful it was! I highly recommend Jamie and her team to ANYONE who wants a beautiful wedding! THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY DREAM WEDDING COME TRUE! -- Josie & Dennis

I got married on 3-23-12 and worked with Jamie to get my flowers for my ceremony. The flowers all turned out great. They were very professional, I know traffic was bad on the way there and they called to say they were running a few minutes late and ended up showing up pretty much on time. I got married at the rusty pelican which only gives florist a very short amount of time for set up and take down and they made it work great. The Flowers were a great value and she worked with me to get exactly what I wanted and did not require a minimum spent. I will be recommending her to my family and...

I think going with Jamie at Flowers-by-Design is a no-brainer. She's high-energy and tireless because of it, she knows her flowers, and she's half the cost of the other florists for the exact flowers you want. They'll make you compromise and tell you it'll still be great, but don't do it. Do your homework, even if it takes an hour extra a week. It's sooooo worth it. Look through the bridal mags and find something, anything, you like. Show her a thumbnail-sized picture and point lamely and say "I want something like that" -- she'll identify the flower, tell you if it's in season during your wedding month, tell you cost and suggest an equally beautiful and less costly mirror image. She doesn't seem organized, but she is, and she's a horticulturalist who grows her own flowers and has lots of contacts to get what you want (weird, obscure, out-of-season, hard-to-find, super-cheap or expensive) to make it happen! She has been doing this forever and got green hydrangea for a low price the other florists seemed suspicious of. She threaded dendrobium orchids like they were buttons -- seamlessly. I'd expect that to cost me a fortune. It cost me NOTHING! And I'm cheap!! My wedding was beautiful! And it was my own -- totally unique. What she did with extra flowers was worth the cost alone -- she gave character to our room, cake table, place card table and gift table that I wasn't expecting. I wanted to hang out there all night! In fact, I totally underestimated what the flowers meant to the day, but I realized that without her handiwork, I'd be a white girl in a white dress under a white canopy on white sand. When I walked down the aisle, hands shaking, body in a trance, it was the pop of color from the gorgeous flowers that made me euphoric and focused me. They were happy and bright, and therefore so was I. And let's talk about that "canopy."In Judaism, it's called a chuppah. It's four-post, and it's very important. That day, there were 30 mph winds and they spent hours trying to put it up, only to have it blow down over and over. I expected it to look lopsided and careless and weighted down and ugly when they were finished -- Jamie has a laid back vibe that made me nervous and, well, I'm Type A. Well I'm an idiot. She made something beautiful, strong, light and airy that looked better than what I had seen in other people's pictures. And it was half the price of theirs. In fact, every picture we took I get compliments on -- I know it's the flowers. We hardly spent a thing, and yet every picture I look at, my eye is drawn to the flowers. Mine, my husband's, my groomsmen, etc. Nothing flashy, nothing crazy, nothing expensive, nothing wasteful -- just everything I wanted. She completed my vision, better than I envisioned it. That's what they call "picture perfect,"...

Jamie did an excellent job on my flowers and fabric draping. My ceremony was held in a pretty simple room and really needed that wedding feel added to it. I was a bit nervous about what I would find that day and if it would be elaborate enough for me. I tried to explain what I wanted as best I could and she assured me she understood the look I wanted. That day I was so pleasantly surprised in so many ways! The draping was exactly what I had pictured (even better than what I pictured) and the floral arrangements and columns created a wonderful aisle. It was beautiful! Now the centerpieces... wow... she did some for my rehearsal dinner (it was a surprise to me) and I was in love with them.. then I walked into the reception room the day of the wedding and I was even more floored by what she had done. I was not expecting such large centerpieces .. I couldn't keep my eyes off of them! She mixed it up between 2 different arrangements and I couldn't have been happier. Not to mention the bouquets were fresh, beautiful and just right for my look. She is definitely a wonderful florist and a good value for the money.

We had SO many issues with Jamie’s professionalism and the quality of her products. Jamie called me the day before my wedding upset that the Hyatt would not let her in the ballroom before 11am. She informed me that she wanted to be done and on her way to the church by noon. My wedding reception wasn’t until 6:30PM. I didn’t see where being let in at 11am was really putting her in a time crunch. I was confused by this…. Jamie then told me that she wanted to be done in a half day because she’s been working 7 days a week, so she was sending her staff to complete my ballroom. When I saw my ballroom, it was awful. The arrangements were not set straight on the tall centerpieces. All the arrangements just looked sloppy. Jamie told me this was due to the vases I supplied being too big. I delivered the vases to Jamie on Jan 23rd. My wedding was Feb 11th. I should have been notified of this and I would have just told her to use her vases or we could sourced different vases for her or more flowers. She told me she wasn’t comfortable asking for more money from us. Well, she was certainly comfortable calling me the day before my wedding to complain about the Hyatt. This problem could have been solved if Jamie would have communicated with me. Even if I would have been notified of this 2 or 3 days before my wedding, my mom and I could have bought new smaller vases. There were also rose petals all over my ballroom. We rented linens and specifically asked that rose petals not be in the ball room, because we wanted the linens to be a highlight and not covered by petals. When I spoke with Jamie about this after my wedding, she wrote me an email telling me I should have had a wedding planner then this could have been corrected. I don’t think it’s the responsibility of a wedding planner to place the rose petals. Jamie did the flower arrangements for my wedding shower. The roses looked wilted. I provided pictures of the wilted flowers and I addressed this with Jamie after my bridal shower as I was stressed about the quality since we had booked her for the wedding as well. She told me since my shower was in August it was sort of an off month for flowers and that my bridesmaids, who chose the shower roses, had picked a very delicate flower. She assured me we could use a more durable flower for my wedding day. It’s sad because my wedding bouquets and centerpieces were just like my shower centerpieces – WILTED ROSES. I even gave Jamie the benefit of the doubt by waiting to see more pictures of my centerpieces and bouquets, well, sure enough there are wilted flowers in all the pictures, including my own bouquet. My bridesmaid’s bouquets were falling apart at the church. Jamie told me that my bridesmaids were not careful enough with the fresh flowers. Lastly, and the most disappointment, post wedding Jamie refused to meet with me and my mom to go over these issues and give us some explanations. Instead she preferred to go back and forth in email. I find this type of communication frustrating and unprofessional.

I loved the bouquets that the flower girl and bridal party carried. They were exactly what my daughter requested. The rest of the bridal party and family received the basic callalilies which is just what we requested. Everything was delivered on time and professional packaged to assure freshness.

My story is a bit different as my wife and I were married in 1970, probably before Jamie was even born. As we were in Florida for our first Christmas we wanted original Christmas decorations. A friend recommended Jamie. I am no artiste, so I gave Jamie carte' blanche to come up with something, and she delivered! We had fresh-cut greens, ribbons and candles in very artistic displays. The greens stayed fresh and aromatic from just before Christmas until after New Years. We had myriad guests and visitors over the Holidays and many unbidden compliments. the decorations were a very nice part of our Holidays. In reading the other reviews written herein, a theme runs throughout. Save one % who were extremely satisfied with the work, service and value. I have already recommended Jamie to family and friends in the area. Rich

Jamie was a pure pleasure to work with. She was able to meet with me immediately once I contacted her, and from just that one meeting she more than exceeded my expectations of the bouquet I showed her. Her work is FLAWLESS and her pricing is more than reasonable. I was actually shocked and honestly a little skeptical about how inexpensive her prices were compared to other florist quotes I received. But don't be alarmed by that at all b/c her work is top notch! Definitely recommend her to all Tampa Bay and surrounding areas brides :)

I met with SO many florists/decorators before I signed with Jamie. I liked her easy going demeanor and even though my wedding had a lot of moving parts she didn't seemed overwhelmed at all. She stayed within my budget and gave me everything that I wanted. Our initial meeting was 2 hours! She didn't rush me or get frustrated during the planning process. I thought that with the budget I had I would have to give something up, but Jamie really worked with my budget and didn't try to nickel-and-dime me on everything. She gave me some great options when the flowers I wanted weren't in my budget and the overall look wasn't sacrificed at all. She even told me which items I could pick up cheaper than what she would charge me to save me $$$. I knew I was asking for more than just the regular centerpieces and bouquet and she had a lot to do in between the ceremony and reception. Jamie handled my flowers and draping. I'm was very picky about the draping and gave her my specifics and she got it spot on. I wanted Royal Blue roses, which don't naturally exist, so she had dye the roses. I was worried about getting the right shade of blue and Jamie NAILED it. They were absolutely beautiful! The decor was exactly what I wanted and I wouldn't have changed a thing. She really understood the look and I wanted and made it breathtaking! Jamie was always pleasant and I could tell she was truly excited about decorating my wedding. She was very reasonably priced, and I'm so glad she did my...

Jamie from Flowers-By-Design is extremely responsive. She worked with my budget(which was small). I didn't have many flowers brought in because my wedding was in a garden. I wanted to really take advantage of what was around us! I had boutineers, corsages, my bouquet, maid of honor bouquet, cake topper and petals for the tables. I loved my bouquet but everything else was average at best. I didn't walk away talking about any of the flowers. I think for me and what I wanted and my price point she was good. I recommend her to anyone who may be in the same boat I was in. Small budget and wanted simple...

I contacted Flowers By Design by recommendation from my venue. I also seeked 2 other proposals by some other florist in the area. I initially settled with Flowers By Design because of their extremely reasonable cost. I communicated countlessly with Jamie about my ideas. She always seemed to be on the same page and was very open to any changes that I had. I never met her in person or saw exactly what she was doing with my pieces. She did offer for me to stop by but I ended up being to busy with my wedding schedule. I was of course alittle nervous with this, but I did not stress about it. On the day of my wedding when the flowers arrived, I was speechless. They were absolutely goregous and exactly what I have envisioned. Jamie is wonderful about puttting your dreams into reality. After seeing my wedding pictures, it only confirmed what a good choice I had made. I highly recommended Flowers by Design for all of your floral needs.

Well all I have to say is WOW!! Jamie did an amazing job with my flowers. I admit I was a little nervous because I had never actually met her but she made me feel at ease after speaking with her on the phone a number of times. I was able to get my vision across to her over the phone, which I think is very difficult considering I have no idea about flowers or bouquets. I explained what I was looking for in my own words and she was able to translate it and deliver. My bouquet was exactly what I was looking for and when it arrived it made me even more excited about getting married. Jamie was very responsive and anytime I called and had questions she was very responsive. Jamie did an amazing job in every way and I wouldn't recommend her enough!

I met with Jaymie 2 months before my wedding. I have been looking around for a long time and with flowers by design i signed contract right away because i was very comfortable with the price. ( I did my homework as well and brought my color swatch and picture of how i want my wedding cremony and reception to look like) I did provided with some gems and 5 vases but it saved me lots of money and Jaymie and her team were able to execute the order. My bouquet is amazing and the centerpieces were very beautiful. The altar and aisle flowers are so pretty. Jaymie actually search for the aisle decor because i want something different than just a shepard hook. Overall it was a great experience and she keep me informed . Thanks Jamie

Working with Jamie Olson of Flowers By Design was GREAT! When we first met with her to discuss the vision for our wedding we knew she was the vendor for us. She’s such a warm and caring woman who is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the flower industry. She showed us a variety of flowers and photos of what we could do. Her prices were very reasonable compared to other florists we’d talked to. We were able to make changes to our work order until about 2 weeks before the wedding and Jamie would always answer my questions or make suggestions. My mom and I wanted to see a sample of our reception centerpieces and Jamie met us at our venue one day with the sample so we could see them on the tables and discuss some other items on our work order. On the day of the wedding, Jamie arrived at the venue early in the day to setup everything. She even put all our votives on the tables for us and decorated a fountain in the lobby of the venue. She is so creative and I LOVED everything she did! Jamie is a wonderful florist/designer and we highly recommend her!

Perfect! I had my ceremony in the courtyard of the Don Cesar beach resort, and the reception in the grand ballroom. Between the fact that it was a destination wedding, (so everybody was traveling home the next day and all the flowers would be trashed) and the already beautiful location, I did not want to have large, over-the-top, or expensive arrangements. Jamie was really helpful in bringing my vision to life while staying within budget. I was no flower expert, so she guided me to the flowers that would give me the most impact without breaking the bank. She only does events, and does not have a retail store front, which enables her to keep her costs down. She was the least expensive of the five local florists I spoke to, but the service and presentation were anything but cheap. Jamie is very professional, and responsive. Being an out-of-state bride, I signed a contract based on a phone call, and reading other reviews. When I was in town for my tasting, she offered to come to my hotel to meet with me to discuss details. I knew I made the right choice! I communicated with her best over e-mail. She is very clear about what you are ordering and how much each item costs, so there are no surprises. On the day of the event she had one of her assistants, Sarah, do the delivery and set-up. She made sure I had everything I needed, and everything was just as I imagined. I would recommend Flowers-by-Design to anybody who want's five star service without the five star price tag. Thanks Jamie and team!
