We had a beach wedding and Bon Appetit handled the ceremony venue and reception. It was all handled with absolute professionalism and perfection. Tina our coordinator did an exceptional job as every detail is accounted for and you worry about nothing. Excellent Job.

Beautiful venue on the water. Great views. Staff was very responsive and everything was set-up just as planned. Wait staff was out of view and magically appeared just when you thought you wanted something. Exceptional service. Sarah was a pleasure to work with.

It sounds like everyone has had a wonderul experience with the Dunedin/Honeymoon Island location. But no one has mentioned Sand Key.
We went through 4 coordinators, yes 4, so it was like playing a game of telephone and things were dropped along the way.
*The day before the wedding we were to meet and go over every final detail. She forgot, she was overbooked and other brides took priority. We paid just like everyone else and deserved the same attention.
*Dinner was 45 minutes late
*We paid for a keg, no bottles of beer were to be sold until the keg was gone. Our money for the bar was blown through during the cocktail hour becuase this was NOT adhered too.
*We were then forced to spend almost 1,000 dollars more becuase of this mess up. That is basically stealing.
*We were to be notified when the budget was spent so we could add to it. Instead of telling us, our guests were CHARGED for their drinks. Embarassing.
* We were told there would be liquor for guests to purchase, no such luck.
*I spoke to the onsite coordinator one time the entire day of our wedding never to be seen again. If it were not for the help of someone who no longer works for you but worked the event as a favor to her friend this would be a lot more scathing.
Positives!- The tent and lights turned out beautifully despite the heavy heavy winds and the food was very good. You allowed our sparkelers and I thank you so much for that! It made the end so very magical.

The venue is absolutely beautiful. Angela was very helpful and was during the entire event to ensure all went well. I had guets who are vegan and they made sure that there were options available for them and staff was able to tell them which foods were appropriate for them to eat during the event.

Choosing Bon Appetit as our ceremony & reception venue was one of the best decisions my Husband and I ever made! They made EVERYTHING so easy. The end result was absolute perfection. Angela is an absolute doll and the staff is very professional and friendly. I highly recommend this venue to any bride.

my dj was a bit surprised (some guests you may have to prepare also) he would have to navigate the stairs with his equipment.
we were told valet parking was part of the package but on the day it was not.
in all it was a beautiful room and the staff was lovely.

I am SO HAPPY I went with Bon Appetit!! Our reception was absolutely beautiful and the staff was extremely helpful to me and my husband!!
To be honest, I did run into a few snafus with them before the wedding. We originally booked with Bon Appetit because we LOVED the coordinator, Carmen, so much! Well, about 4 months before the wedding I emailed Carmen multiple times, and received no response. So I finally called only to find out that Carmen was no longer working there! Would have been nice had someone told me...but I went and met with Nancy. I had my reservations about her at first, she was Carmen's complete opposite, but on my wedding day, Nancy DID NOT disappoint!! She had everything set up just the way I wanted it. She even went out of her way to make sure my husband and I had a plate with all of the hor duerves on it, to make sure we had time to try them all :) The staff was excellent too! I have a suspicion that my husband and I had our own special waiter...or at least it felt like we did!
I would 100% recommend Bon Appetit to anyone :) Don't let Nancy scare you when you meet her, she's WONDERFUL!

We just celebrated my daughter's wedding reception this past Saturday. All I have to say is that when the reception finished and my daughter left with a huge smile on her face, I was speechless and overwhelmed with gratitude for Nancy and the staff at Bon Appetit. After a year of long distance planning ( I live four and half hours away) I arrived at Bon Appetit the afternoon before the wedding (the wedding was @ 11:30 a.m. the next day) with the decorations and unfinished place cards. My plan was to sit in Nancy's office and finish them and then start decorating the room. When I realized that I had not pressed the wedding dress that had gotten wrinkle during the trip. I panicked!! Not being from this area, did not know where to go. Nancy got on the phone, found me a cleaners they use and told them to wait for me since they turned off their steamers @3p.m. Nancy told me to go that she would do the place cards!!! With rehearsal and rehearsal dinners I was not able to come back until 9p.m. with all the linens and tons of decorations. After a few hours Nancy told me to leave that she would finish. I left with hesitation since there were so many details. When I walked into the reception after the wedding I was overwhelmed with joy because the room exceeded all my expectations! I don't know how
she pulled it together for an early wedding, but she did!! I felt so welcomed!! The food was delicious and the staff amazing!! I was so grateful that I gave Nancy my favorite flower arrangement!

A few years back I attended a wedding at Bon Appetite and thought it was absolutely beautiful and always knew that I would one day have my wedding there. So once I got engaged I was pretty much sold on it. Only now that it is over with do I wish I would have kept looking at other venues. The night of my reception was perfect. The room was beautiful, the staff was excellent and everyone had a good time, but the problems I had leading up the the day of were not worth the end product.
First off, I began working with their coordinator and talking to her about my visions and what I wanted. I paid her the minimum amount due for a Saturday ($8000) before the end of 2010 so I would lock in the 2010 prices, but had not yet picked menu choices, linens, etc. About 2 months from the time of the wedding I began emailing her to finalize all of these minor, yet very important details. After 4 emails and multiple calls over a week’s time I got no answer. I finally called and was informed that the old coordinator had quit and no one knew anything about my wedding or the $8000 that I had already paid them!!!! As any bride would be I was outraged, but managed to keep my cool. I had receipts stating I had paid and confirmation numbers for my event, all was good.
Well that was not the end. I finally made an apt to sit down with the new coordinator, Nancy, and was not at all happy with her, her attitude, or her professionalism. She did not care about anything that I had to say and at one point even stated that I was wrong about calling and emailing to get no answer in return. We learned to deal with each other and went on with the details.
As if I had not already gone through enough with them there is more! The day before the wedding myself and all of my bridal party and all of the parents arrived to set up the centerpieces to find the hall still a complete mess from the night before! When we arrived we had very little time to set up the centerpieces because we had to get to the rehearsal, so imagine my shock when we walked in to find a mess from the night before.
All in all my wedding turned out to be everything I wanted it to be and the night went great, but if I could do it all over again I would choose a different venue because the problems that I encountered leading up to the wedding, were not worth it! Good luck to future brides that choose Bon Appetite!! BEWARE of NANCY!!!!!

We decided to have our wedding at Bon Appetit after seriously considering several other venue choices with similar offerings. Our ceremony was hold in Bon Appetit's Sunset Ballroom I, with shuttered windows that overlook the intracoastal and a large, white arch that can support column or arch-top arrangements. (If weather permits, you can opt to have your ceremony on the deck overlooking the intracoastal, with breathtaking views and balmy breezes.) The Sunset Ballroom II, where the reception was held, has stunning views of the intracoastal waterway through its walls of windows, which stretch from one end of the room to the other along the waterside. The room was decorated beautifully, clean and bright. The wedding package prices are in line with those of other waterfront venues, and the food was good. When life threw us a curveball (our son and daughter were in a car accident on the way to the reception), Carmen took control of the evening, rearranging the schedule to keep our waiting guests happy while calming my husband and I until the ceremony could take place. And, as a plus, the complimentary hotel room was large and airy, perfect for getting ready for the wedding, and spending the first night together.

Nancy and Lois at Bon Appetit are fabulous to work with. The venue gets an A+ in all areas, but we chose it for the views, the size of the space, the convenience to quaint Dunedin, the Best Western for our guests, and proximity to the airport. Our experience was top notch. The food was good, but as a bride, I don't remember much about that, but our guests enjoyed their meal. The venue space is perfect for a ceremony, dancing, a cocktail hour, dancing, and a variety of photo options with the water, the marina, the small park across the street. We didn't anticipate how wonderful our guests would intermingle on the weekend of the wedding, making and reestablishing connections, because of the hotel, the pool and walking the streets and shops. Everyone is still talking about what an amazing event we had. Thank you to everyone!

We had our rehearsal dinner at Bon Appetit with about 75 guests. They worked with us throughout the planning process & helped us make the night a success.

I had my Ceremony and Reception on Honeymoon Island, which is managed by the same team under a different name from how I gathered it. We stayed at the hotel, Yacht Harbor Best Western (Hotel was great & highly recommended, we got a wonderful deal by booking online through the best western website) and had our rehearsal dinner at Bon Appetit. This made it SUPER convienent because it was pretty much all in one area. Rehearsal went very well. My one complaint (and one that if I had known prior would have changed my location for the dinner), was only small. They menu looks like soda is included for your guests at the dinner, however they put it under desserts, a normal place for drinks to be placed on the menu. Not to the owners of Bon Appetit it seems. To them this mean, soda is included.. only at the time dessert is served. So you can pretty much pay 2.50 for a soda that in 45 min will be "included" anyway, drink water for free, or order alcholic drinks. It is not a huge ordeal in general because everything else was good, I think it is more of the fact that soda is so cheap... either include it with the whole dinner.. or just do not include it at all. Do not play "games" as it how it looks sadly.
For my ceremony and reception on Honeymoon Island... WONDERFUL! Site was beautiful... wonderful communiction.. SO MUCH FUN! and nothing more wonderful then a reception with the sunsets Florida beaches have. Food was AMAZING, and I was really worried. Been in hotel industry a long time, so super picky but it was great! I would recommend it to EVERYONE, because everyone had a blast as we danced the night away on the beach. Since they close at dusk it was just us too. (If it is already rained for the summer season bring skin so soft bug spray, and a few cans:) Did not change the great time everyone had but we ran out of spray (I did not count them out right). (Cost below was ceremony & reception for 40 people)

The only thing I was upset about was that I specifically asked that the cake slice were cut large because I got double the cake necessary. We ended up taking home two of four tiers of cake. Otherwise, Lois was such a pleasure to work with. They went above and beyond, helping with planning, set up, etc.

Bon Appetit is a tradition in my family, and I could not have chosen anything else! They did a good job and provided a lovely reception hall for my wedding. We chose a package deal, so everything was provided....which makes it soo easy! The staff was very helpful and our event planner did a great job (thanks Nancy!). It really is a great deal for the price.
